To understand Libri Amor, you first need to know that books aren't just what I read—they're part of who I am. There's rarely a day that passes without me losing myself in at least one chapter, unless the demands of mom-life have kept me on my feet until after midnight. My relationship with books started in childhood, and many of those first treasured volumes still hold places of honor in my collection.
Our home library has swelled beyond 1,000 physical books spanning everything from children's literature to non-fiction, science fiction to dystopian worlds, and my true literary love—ROMANCE. Each book represents not just a story, but a memory, an experience, a world I've inhabited.
I used to be a die-hard physical book devotee—cherishing the smell, the feel, the reassuring weight in my hands. When a wrist condition made holding printed books painful, I reluctantly purchased my first Kindle. That reluctance quickly transformed into wonder as millions of books suddenly became available at my fingertips. Now I lovingly refer to my collection as both "trophies" (those gorgeous special editions worth splurging on) and my "zombie apocalypse backup copies"—the books I simply couldn't imagine living without if the internet disappeared tomorrow.
Beyond being a bibliophile, I'm a wife and mother to two pre-teen boys who are growing up in a home where reading is celebrated. My oldest explores his creativity through writing, art, theater, and music, while his younger brother dives deep into gaming and virtual reality. Our family also includes a protective German Shepherd, an adorably ditzy Siberian Husky, and three mostly-lazy cats (including one diva who believes she belongs in every video call).
By day, I've dedicated over 15 years to public service, currently specializing in online learning management systems—a role that beautifully blends service with creativity through course development, graphics, and marketing materials. But after hours, my thoughts always circle back to books and supporting the authors whose words have shaped my life.
The spark for LibriCards ignited from a practical problem: I'd always fantasized about having a physical card catalog for my home library—a system that could encompass both my physical books and ever-expanding digital collection. My homemade attempts left me unsatisfied; I respected authors' copyright to their covers and content too much to settle for printer-paper approximations.
That's when the idea bloomed: what if I could create officially licensed cards that featured the beautiful covers and essential book facts? Cards that could help me catalog my collection and assist in selecting my next read?
My involvement in countless reading groups across Facebook, Goodreads, and Reddit revealed I wasn't alone in this desire. The question of how to organize physical and digital libraries comes up constantly among fellow book lovers. This observation led to the LibriCard ID concept—a unique identifier for every book that could help fans organize their collections similar to the Dewey Decimal system, but specifically designed for fiction.
Because if there's one thing book lovers share, it's the hours spent arranging and rearranging our precious treasures!
After attendance at my first book convention, Queers & Quills Portland 2025, my quest to create even more products for readers and authors expanded exponentially. With all of the fun promotional items that authors had, and the fabulous gifts other readers were sharing, I started brainstorming other fun, unique and creative ways that could expand our offerings to additional treasures and promotional opportunities that book lovers would, well… LOVE! Thus was born my Etsy store and plans to increase the types of treasures offered.
For authors, we’ll offer ways in which they can customize some of these items into promotional products for their website, book cons, and/or officially license products that specifically celebrate their books for purchase through our Etsy site (with appropriate commissions to them, of course).
Every job I've held across my 30+ year career has centered on customer service. Mentors throughout these years have shaped my drive to be of service and deliver excellence in everything I do. This experience, combined with my background as a small business owner, sales and marketing, forms the foundation of Libri Amor's approach.
Libri Amor—Latin for "Book Love"—is where my passion for reading meets my desire to support authors. It's where beautiful design meets practical organization and bookish fun. And most importantly, it's where readers and writers come together to celebrate the magic that happens when stories find their perfect audience.
This is just the beginning of our story. The margins are filled with ideas waiting to be written into reality, all focused on spreading book love and supporting the authors who share their worlds with us.
